Dr Tuyisenge Lizine, impuguke mu ndwara z’abana, avuga ko umusonga wibasira cyane cyane abana bo mu bihugu bikiri mu nzira y’amajyambere, bakaba ari bo benshi ihitana.
Impuguke mu kuvura indwara z’abana zivuga ko impfu z’aba bana zishobora kwirindwa dore, ko n’ubushakashatsi buvuga ko mu myaka 20 ishize izo mpfu zagabanyutseho inshuro ebyiri.
Dr Tuyisenge ati “umusonga ni imwe mu ndwara zishobora kwirindwa ku isi, kuko n’ibikoresho bya ngombwa bihari uhereye ku bijyanye no kuyirinda kugeza kuyivura abana bagakira”.

Ubushakashatsi bwerekana ko abana bafite ibyago byinshi byo kwandura umusonga kurusha abandi ari abatagejeje ku myaka ibiri, ababana n’abanywi b’itabi ndetse n’ababa ahantu hari umwuka udasukuye.
Na none abana babana n’ubwandu bw’agakoko ka SIDA cyangwa izindi ndwara (bwaki, imitima) ndetse n’abana batonkejwe bihagije nibura amezi atandatu nabo baba bafite ibyago byinshi byo kurwara umusonga.
Zimwe mu ngamba zo kwirinda umusonga, ni ugukingirwa, Dr. Tuyisenge yemeza ko urukingo ari uburyo bukomeye bwo kwirinda umusonga.
Ati “Mu Rwanda hari amahirwe y’uko urukingo rw’umusonga ruhari, ku nkunga y’Umuryango mpuzamahanga utanga inkingo witwa GAVI (Global Alliance For Vaccines and Immunization) rukaba rutangirwa ubuntu ku bana bose bagejeje igihe cyo gukingirwa”.
Umusonga ni indwara ifata ibihaha, ikagaragazwa n’inkorora, umuriro, ndetse no guhumeka nabi. Uterwa na mikorobe zimwe na zimwe cyane cyane bagiteri (pinemokoke na Hemofilus) na za virusi nk’itera iseru.
Ibimenyetso by’umusonga ni inkorora, kugira umuriro, guhumeka nabi (guhumekera hejuru, imbavu zikagwamo ndetse umwana akarira).
